  • 1 x Big Dog Chicken patty (for the drumstick meat)
  • 1 x crocodile tail, trimmed (or any of your dog's favourite long treats)

For the crumb coating:

  • 1 1/2 tablespoons coconut flakes
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons oats
  • 3/4 teaspoon turmeric
  • Small pinch of nutritional yeast (optional, but check for suitability as it contains high levels of purine)


  • Slightly defrost a Big Dog Chicken patty.
  • Take the slightly defrosted Big Dog Chicken patty and using a skewer, carefully poke a hole in the middle of the patty. This will create a space to slide in your dog's favourite treat or crocodile tail without breaking it.

 Next, take your knife and carefully carve around the patty, shaping it into a delightful drumstick form.
  • Using a mortar and pestle or a food processor, combine the coconut flakes, oats, turmeric, and a small pinch of Nutritional yeast (if using). Crush the ingredients until they form a coarse mixture.
  • Take the prepared chicken drumstick and generously coat it with the gourmet crumb mixture, making sure to cover all sides.

 To store the drumstick, place in an airtight container in the freezer. If you can't resist the temptation, you can also serve them to your pup right away for an instant meal!
